April Lorenzo
Head Coach
Coach April Lorenzo comes with 15 years of coaching experience ranging from elementary to high school. For the past 15 years she has been the head basketball coach at Seattle Girls’ School, coached two seasons at Bellevue High School as an assistant varsity/ JV head coach and interim head coach (2021-2022). Most recently she was the head JV/ assistant varsity coach at Chief Sealth High School, the 2024-2025 season 2A Metro champions .
April was born and raised in Seattle and graduated from Eastside Catholic where she played 4 years on the varsity basketball team and was part of the Crusaders Cinderella season, placing second in the state tournament, the highest in the school’s history.
After high school, she went on to play at Menlo College where she graduated with a Sports Management degree and then received her Masters degree in Athletic Administration and coaching from Concordia University Irvine.
April is excited to bring her knowledge and love of the game to Lincoln and help each athlete reach their highest potential.
In her spare time you can find her spending time with family and friends, finding new food spots and traveling as much as she can.
Looking forward to joining the community and leading the girls’ basketball program.

Karmelah Dean
Assistant Coach / JV Coach
Karmelah Dean is a seasoned guard hailing from Seattle, Wa, who brings dedication,
adaptability, and resilience. A standout at Roosevelt High School (MVP leader, all-metro honoree),
she developed further at the College of Southern Idaho, where she earned two All‑Region
selections and led her team to a NJCAA National Tournament. Recruited to Northwestern State
University by Coach Anna Nimz, Dean overcame significant injury setbacks to finish as a key
contributor in her senior season averaging double-digit points, leading conference scoring,
ranking among top assist leaders, and showcasing defensive intensity. Dean’s leadership,
adaptability, and experience bring genuine perspective to her coaching ethos and player
development approach.
In addition to her basketball background, Karmelah Dean holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwestern State University. She understands the importance of mental health, confidence, and emotional development—especially for young women navigating both sports and adolescence. Her psychology training allows her to create a supportive environment where athletes feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Being named the Head JV Coach and Varsity Assistant at Lincoln High School is an incredible opportunity and a full‑circle moment for Karmelah Dean. She sees the role as a chance to shape young women not only as athletes but also as confident, disciplined leaders—especially in the heart of Seattle, where her own basketball journey began. Recognizing Lincoln’s strong legacy and growing program, Dean is eager to help write its next chapter. Having risen through
Seattle’s basketball ranks herself, she understands the challenges these girls face and is ready to push, support, and prepare them for success both on and off the court.
Outside of her coaching responsibilities, Karmelah Dean enjoys spending her spare time in simple, meaningful ways. She coaches two 15U girls AAU basketball teams, continuing her passion for player development year-round. When she’s not in the gym, she loves relaxing at home with her cats and unwinding from the day. Karmelah Dean brings her passion and energy to LHS!

Anna Bezner
Assistant Coach/JV/Varsity
Anna is joining the Lincoln High Girls Basketball team in her first year of coaching, bringing a lifelong passion for basketball. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Anna played four years of varsity basketball. Anna attended the University of Oregon where she participated in basketball intramurals while earning an undergraduate degree in Economics. Anna has worked with athletes of all ages as a personal trainer, with a focus on strength and finding joy in fitness. Anna is excited to teach the next generation a love for the game that will last a lifetime, and help players achieve their goals whether they are short term or long term. In her free time, Anna can be found attending Seattle Storm games, riding her bike, and pampering her dog and cats.
